Description

DESCRIPTION

In this webinar, I will discuss how peripheral biofeedback can be used by mental health practitioners to assist their clients, including new clients, by introducing them to evidence-based mind/body techniques. We will talk about the large numbers of college students who are suffering with stress and anxiety. Biofeedback was used to help this population in the Ratanasinpong, P., Sverduk, K., Prince, J., Hayashino, D., (2012) paper. We will discuss some of the challenges with biofeedback including acceptable research of efficacy which is the subject of Kondo, K., Noonan, K., Freeman, M., Ayers, C., Morasco, B., Kansagara, D. (2019. Finally, we will discuss non-clinical applications of biofeedback including peak performance. The Pagaduan, JC., Chen, YS., Fell, JW., Wu, SSXI, (2020) paper covers an example of biofeedback being used for improving athletic performance.

  1. Properly define the term biofeedback.
