Biological Psychologist Dr. Fred Shaffer will review recent findings on addiction, depression, the heart-brain connection, and sleep, and explain their implications for treatment and optimal performance coaching.

Fred Shaffer, PHD, BCB, BCB-HRV

Fred Shaffer is a biological psychologist and professor of Psychology at Truman State University. He has served on the faculty since 1975 and as Director of Truman’s Center for Applied Psychophysiology since 1977. In 2008, he received the Walker and Doris Allen Fellowship for Faculty Excellence. In 2013, he received the Truman State University Outstanding Research Mentor of the Year award. In 2019, he received AAPB’s Distinguished Scientist award. Fred consults with publishers on behavioral science and psychopharmacology and develops educational products with a dedicated team of professionals for BioSource Software.
