QEEG-ish: Tactics and Techniques for Translating Brain to Anyone

Series #40

Webinar

August 12, 2025
12:00PM ET

Neurofeedback clinicians all struggle to communicate across the EEG language barrier! Whether creating an actual “elevator pitch” for neurofeedback, devising simple yet direct methods to accurately portray what we do, making color-coded brain maps come alive, or explaining the nuances of EEG biomarkers, it is an immense challenge. Most clients will never learn how to interpret an EEG, but they all want to understand the process, principles, and potency of neuromodulation techniques.

Join Jeff for a fun-but-incredibly valuable session on how to communicate neurofeedback and neuroanalysis lingo into everyday, easily understandable language for your clients. Using humor, stories, metaphors, and analogies, Jeff will guide you across the EEG language barrier. While the session is designed as a more laid-back, interactive summer jaunt, it will provide memorable, engaging, and practical techniques to hone one of the most overlooked of all vital neurofeedback skills: the art of effective, engaging communication with clients. This session is for novices and advanced practitioners alike, and you are invited to come with a sampling of your own QEEG-ish to share with the group.

Presenter

Jeffrey J. Schutz, LMFT, BCN-L, ORD.

Jeff is the Founder and Executive Director of The Neurovation Center. He has pioneered integrative techniques for assessing and integrating neuroanalysis and neurofeedback into mental healthcare. Jeff is also the CEO of NeuroInnovation Consulting Services, and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology through Liberty University, doing research on the integration of neurofeedback into mental healthcare. Jeff is the counselor you go to when you’ve tried couple counseling before and it went nowhere. He’s also the therapist you want if you desire the deeper, more intimate, more fulfilling marriage that is worth a lifetime together. Jeff’s goal is to bring about change – real, deep and meaningful. Fun and engaging, he finds a way to get to the heart of relational problems and then “unstuckify” the nasty patterns of reactivity, resentment and poor communication that seem to grow faster than weeds in any relationship. He is a specialist on counseling couples and families with a special needs child (he himself was a “special ops dad” before his oldest son Joel passed away in 2016), and he has fallen into a seldom identified area of expertise of counseling those who have been wounded by a person with a personality disorder. As an ordained and licensed pastor, Jeff enjoys challenging Christians to grow in their faith by applying biblical principles to everyday relationship dynamics. Jeff is an accomplished speaker, having over 20 years of public speaking experience, both nationally and internationally, equally as comfortable in acacdemic / conference settings as he is in small round-table discussions.
