This webinar aims to introduce the Biofeedback Association of South Africa to a wider community of colleagues highlighting the path that clinicians in South Africa follow to become certified and skilled in the application of Biofeedback within their practices. Information will be presented about the population that is currently serviced with an intention to create awareness for the unique South African landscape and the challenges and opportunities this affords those who practice there.

In the past year, NRBS updated the mission to include a statement related to diversity and equity. As such, we are honored to have formed a relationship with the Biofeedback Association of South Africa. This webinar promises to offer an opportunity to learn how we can improve the way we address challenges with our own patients based on the experiences of our colleagues from South Africa.

Presenter

Colleen Bow Psychometrist/Neurotherapist

Colleen Bow is a Psychometrist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. She completed her BA and Honours degrees in Psychology from the Rand Afrikaans University in 2004 and went on to complete her Psychometric Internship at the Institute of Child and Adult Guidance where much of her training centred around the fields of Neuro and Educational Psychology. She is also registered with the HPCSA as an EEG Technician (S), working under the close mentorship of a Neurophysiologist. Seeing the value that Neurofeedback added to her own family Colleen trained in Neurofeedback through Stress Therapy Solutions in 2012 and has achieved Board Certification in Neurofeedback from the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. She serves on the board of the Biofeedback Association of South Africa guiding clinicians through the required training to ensure competence in the field.
