Dear Colleagues,

This is the first newsletter since our conference at the end of January.  I hope you were able to attend because by all accounts the presentations were engaging and informative.  In the weeks following the conference, your board is busy considering possible education offerings to providers and/or the public.  Stay tuned as these plans formalize.

For those who were not at the conference, I want to mention NRBS' initiative to provide scholarships and equipment to underserved populations who might otherwise not be able to participate in our field. Please consider a donation of any amount to help us with this initiative.

Finally, I am sure many of you are aware of the passing of Dr. Michael Thompson.  He was a giant in our and a true friend of NRBS.  He will be missed.

AAPB is planning a number of events to commemorate Dr. Thompson. We will keep you informed as they are scheduled.

Enjoy the arrival of spring.

Mitchell Sadar, Ph.D.

In Memoriam: Michael Thompson, MD

Surrounded by his loving family, Michael passed away comfortably at home on March 1, 2021 to embark upon his next wonderful adventure.
Dr. Thompson enjoyed a long and varied career, but to us he is most famous for being the other half of a brilliant writing and teaching team along with Dr. Lynda Thompson. Together they brought the science and possibilities of neurofeedback to many people, both in North America and internationally.  One of his most significant gifts to the field was the Neurofeedback Book.  Dr. Thompson was a strong supporter of NRBS and regularly offered to teach and regale us with his knowledge.  There will be a virtual memorial service and we will notify you when this is scheduled as well as when other events occur in his memory.

Help your clients stress less and focus more with Versus

We know the pandemic has made it more difficult to support your clients’ mental wellness. The Versus System can help. It was designed by and for biofeedback professionals like you. Our 5-sensor mobile EEG headset works with our iOS app, which includes our NeuroPerformance Assessment and brain exercises.

Here’s how Versus works. Each user takes an assessment, which identifies their mental strengths and weaknesses. Then, they enhance their focus, reduce their stress, and improve their sleep patterns by playing customized games with their brainwaves. You can view each user’s brain data and track their progress remotely via our Professional Dashboard.

Attract new clients and keep your existing ones engaged by adding Versus to your practice. Use the Versus System with clients in your office or send it home with them. Either way, it makes the perfect addition to the services you’re already offering!
